Daniel Bitzer of First National Bank of Michigan, Kalamazoo, was promoted to CEO effective Jan. 1.
Bitzer has been president since 2015. He joined the bank in December 2011 as Grand Rapids, Mich., market president. He has more than three decades’ experience in commercial banking and successfully lead the bank’s expansion into the Grand Rapids market.
“Dan’s promotion to president and CEO reflects his proven performance and follows the board-approved management succession plan. I have tremendous confidence in his leadership skills and trust he will continue the bank’s legacy of success,” said Larry Lueth, bank co-chairman. Lueth recently retired as the bank’s CEO.

The addition of Jesse Prins as vice president commercial banking at the bank’s Holland, Mich., location. Prins has more than 15 years of experience in Holland.
Deb Lang also joined the bank recently as assistant vice president of marketing. She has more than 25 years’ experience in marketing and advertising. She is in the Kalamazoo market.
Tamara Milobinski joined the bank as vice president commercial banking at the bank’s Holland location also. She has experience in leadership, sales, commercial and retail lending, treasury management and retail banking. She is currently attending the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
Al Hoffman joined the bank as vice president and manager of human resources. He had been at Borgess Health in Kalamazoo since 2008 and has 20 years’ experience in human resources, compensation and benefits management.
First National Bank was chartered in 2006 in Kalamazoo. It currently has offices in Kalamazoo, Portage and Grand Rapids, Mich., and has assets of $432 million.
